I'm no expert, but I've sold other floor adhesives several times. Tavi looks a little thinner. It applies easily and seems to stick to everything as advertised. Make sure you have mineral spirits and rags with you when using it. I also had a cake pan that contained a half inch of alcohol so I could set up a spatula for easier clean up. I used the Tavy system to tile a 7' x 12' concrete basement with cracks up to 1/8" in size. It used to have old green square sticky tiles on it, and the floor…

Easy to use with great results! (says a novice tiler)

I bought the Tavy Thin Skin System (glue and paper) to redo my kitchen floor and door in a rental apartment. It's actually more of an overview of the whole system, not just the glue. The rental house was built in 1959 and is located in the basement. so there was no sagging or bouncing to deal with. The…

Pros
  • TAVY's two-component, thin-layer underlay was developed to create a tile underlay that can be installed on any surface without increasing the height of the subfloor.
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

An easy to use system that works as advertised.

(This is a duplicate of the Tavy Fine Leather Review.) We moved into a house that had most of the ground floor tiled. Unfortunately, the tile work throughout the house was extremely poor. The tile was placed on 3/4 thick plywood and the grout cracked in places or the tile cracked because the bottom floor "moved out" of the weak base the tile was laid over. It was particularly bad in a small laundry room. I suspect the washing machine had a leak at some point. The tiles in this room literally…
