I haven't used garlands yet as it's summer and I'm planning to use them in my fall-fall decorations. BUT, I took them off and checked. They have a juicy, glossy dark brown color. They are very strong and there are NO protruding threads in the box.

We tried hanging a large plastic owl and then a shiny reflective tape under the roof of our boat lift but neither worked to deter the birds from boarding the lift to land cable. and poops on the front and back of our boat every day.
