Loose tea is easy to strain. The cup will get hot and slippery when wet. My first fell down and broke. I bought another one, but I also bought a set of silicone pads. Completely solved the problem. Looks a bit weird, but that doesn't bother me. The strainer is a bit difficult to clean, but not enough to put me off using a mug, which I like by the way. Might even buy a few more.
