📻 XM Commander XMRV-RFM001 Review

All components not included (antenna missing). The radio was sold as new but this is debatable as it was packaged in a worn box with the radio ID removed. I have returned the item.

I installed this device in a 2001 Porsche Cabriolet. Unfortunately, the head unit was DOA, but Audiovox replaced it without incident. The antenna is installed on the dashboard and works perfectly. I had to use a modulator system which also turned out to be excellent. I want the head unit to have three lines so it can display artist, song and channel (broadcaster?) at the same time. Otherwise there are no complaints.

My Commander was professionally installed in Curcuit City. However, I lost reception on some of my favorite AM and FM stations. I had an old Commander model and the module was more powerful than Curcuit City and I didn't have this problem. I will try to return it. It cost me about $100.00 extra money for installation. I am very disappointed in this commander.

I have installed this product in each of my cars Honda Accord and Honda Pilot and it works fantastic. The reception is fantastic! The sound is amazing - very clear. It also includes a very handy, user-friendly, intuitive remote control. This makes it very easy to change channels without taking your eyes off the road. HM service is great! I can't stand traditional radio, having to listen to constant commercials and a bunch of bad music to hear a song or two that I really like. HM solves this…

I installed XM Commander professionally. Back then, FM Mod was the only option for my car. Sound quality is good as with any FM radio station. lock to install. Few items could be improved. First, the display block can have a scrolling option, allowing you to see the entire band or song title in some cases. Perhaps a smaller font size could be used. Second, the buttons on the display are so small that it's difficult for adult fingers to find the right one. The remote works wonders in this area…

Easy installation, affordable price and great sound quality make this a great purchase for those who already have a CD player installed have on their vehicle. Other devices require the purchase of a tuner, then a car kit with a cassette adapter, which I haven't used, then an FM modulator and antenna, which is almost twice the price of this device. I bought this a few days ago and am completely satisfied with its performance. Be honest, most people don't need more features than XM offers unless you're happy to spend money on things you never use. The sound quality is excellent but could be improved. I have had this unit (same as the one I just bought) used to, since I bought the SL500 in 1998. If I remember correctly, the Mercedes dealer sold it for $1,500. That was back when XM and Sirius were separate companies and MBZ had great radio but only AM, FM and shortwave. Hence the name of the device. Aside from the fact that it worked great, what I liked best was its small size which allowed it to fit very snugly in the lockable little accessory compartment built into the dash above the radio.
