I really didn't want to spend $$ on this tiny piece of metal, but after so many stressed cable connections that broke during filming, I've decided to try it to see if it helps. Since using it I haven't had a single connection problem. The same laptop/camera/Capture One version I had so many connection issues with and this little TetherBlock came in and saved the day. Now I refuse to shoot without it! This is a lifesaver.

Retaining block is rock solid. It holds the Tether Tools cables very securely and fully protects your camera's ports during tethered shooting. The quality of the product is excellent. You can attach the quick release tripod plates to the bottom of the rope block, which makes shooting very convenient. Like other reviewers, I find the price outrageous. If Manfrotto quick release plates sell for $25 I see no reason why this product is $90. This price does not encourage me to look at Tether Tools'…

I bought this product for my Nikon D750 which has a very fiddly USB port. The product works as described and prevents the USB cable from unplugging when pulled out. Unfortunately, this product blocks the battery cover on the bottom of the camera. During a photo shoot, to change the batteries, I have to detach the camera from the tripod, remove the quick release plate, and remove the tether. Then reassemble everything.
