This is a durable shoe with a well-protected toe cap and grippy bottom. I want to love them and my 1.5 year old is too young to tell me he doesn't like them but the tops of his feet look awful when I take them off: red marks from folds of stiff fabric that press into his foot. I still put them on him from time to time when he won't be wearing them for a long time, and try not to overtighten them. So unfortunately not a reliable summer shoe for him for the whole day. My 8 year old son is a size 2 right now so I ordered these and agree with other reviewers these runs are large. If they were for me I would return them, but kids grow up, right?
