This is the best travel mug I have ever owned. Sealed when closed. I dropped it in my bag with a full container of tea and everything in my bag came out dry. I bought my 2010, I use it every day, several countries, no problems. I bought it in black and now all the black has fallen off over the years so it's silver. That's the only problem. The rubber remained protective throughout, no leaks, no issues. I use it literally every day. Item arrived damaged despite shipping box intact; The cup had a large and quite noticeable 2 inch dent on the side. Incredibly well designed. This keeps my tea at the same temperature throughout the day and it doesn't leak at all, the two most important features of a thermos. Also, the cap unscrews easily (no fumbling to set the threads) and the open-close mechanism is easy to use and has a very nice click.
