🚽 Thetford 42179 Seat/Cover Assembly in Bone Shade Review

Brand new out of the box and has a tear on the rear right hinge. Return for replacement. someone else complained that this product broke after a month. Let's see what they send me next and how long it will take. The hinge is the weak point of this chair.

This is a replacement for the identical seat that came with our new motorhome. This seat practically fell apart within a few weeks. So far the replacement seems to be holding up. Please note that the toilet must be removed to change the seat. Not a big job with the RV toilet, but a little annoying.

Poor materials and design. The plastic used in this toilet seat with this design is too soft. The ribs trying to hold the toilet seat are so thin that they start to compress. Ribs are a beast to try to tidy up with all their nooks and crannies that hide "things".

This saddle broke after 6 months Bought the first time for a toilet then bought as a replacement and broke after no more than 6 months. For $53 please make something that lasts longer, it's ridiculous, total junk, the sad part is having to buy a replacement because the only hats fit the toilet, at least as far as I know.

The new seat is heavier and better quality than the original, but some of the parts were missing. We contacted Thetford direct and they sent a brand new seat that was also missing some of the fasteners! We ended up sending the assembly back to Revain for a refund. Quality control can help as this is a quality product. Buy it from your local dealer and make sure all mounting hardware is included!

We have Thetford Aqua Magic Style II porcelain toilet in bone colour. Our hinge was broken when we received it. This replacement seat and cover fit perfectly and the color matches better than the original. The original surface was smooth. The block we got is textured and we love it. We also had a toilet seat pad which we will need one day but haven't used yet. We will definitely buy it from Thetford again if the need arises.
