🚽 Thetford 7862 Porta Potti Bellows Repair Kit Review

Installation can be a little tricky and the sealing needs a bit of 'convincing' but it was a lot compared to replacing the whole pot but it's really just a piece of plastic so you pay for availability and service.

One size. The fittings are a bit longer than on my old pump. installation difficult. The bellows don't stay rolled sideways, but they still work. Better than buying a new pot. I have used it well for a long time.

They are pretty cheap and don't last many seasons. They break along the creases of the accordion folds. They're pretty easy to replace and better than buying a new porta pot.

This is the second time (in thirty years) that I have replaced the pump on my Thetford Port-a-Potti. This time it proved almost impossible to install the pump correctly. The piece of butyl sealant that came with it was too small. I have some butyl left that I will apply when I have time.

Easy installation. Just take out the old part and put it in its place. Supplied with gasket around all 3 inlets/outlets. This fits my 30 year old 265. Just make sure and test before you buy as I have found that Walmart is selling the entire kit including the check valve and hoses cheaper with free pickup.

Glad Thetford still make them. The original pump failed after more than 15 years of service. I found a youtube video showing how to remove/replace it. Tip: Be sure to clean the tank of old sealant before installing it. Scrape it off, then wipe away any remaining gasoline (Ronsonol lighter fluid) with a paper towel. Also, push firmly and firmly on the top of the plunger so it fits into the container.

This is an exact replacement for air springs. This does NOT come with the all-important purge valve that comes on the original! You need to remove it and connect it to this device. That's easy. However, the valve is a cheap bit that should have been included! Very cheap plastic bellows, no parts just glue. Therefore, it should cost around $7 and still make a nice profit!
