Fixed an expensive light for a small price

Exact replacement of the ballast in my Thin Lite light. Money saved when buying a new lamp. I would recommend this product to my friends.

Thin-Lite Ballast Good for Electrics

A new ballast costs less than half the price of a new incandescent bulb. So if you get the chance to put it in, it's a good deal. I used a riveter and a soldering iron to complete the job. You can connect the wires, but it takes a lot more care to solder the old wires to the new ballast. Light works like new.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Works as advertised

This ballast was the part I needed to repair my existing 12v RV light. I'm not part of the throwaway culture, I like to fix things. This part costs about what a new lamp would cost. Also, replacing this circuit board took me longer than replacing the entire lamp. Most of the time was spent removing the residual odor from burnt ballast from the fixture.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Perfectly adapted to the Thin Lite 192 model that Thin Lite no longer produces but they could have added lamp holders to the ends of the wires. I had to cut the wires and reconnect them to the old sockets, 5 wires with plugs makes it impossible to just put everything in place. But it worked and I was able to keep the original light instead of a new one that didn't match the other lights on the boat.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
