I buy leather belts but I've had a few with short lifespans recently. I hate the lack of adjustability with a standard die-cut strap, and my braided straps wear out quickly where the buckle intrudes most often. I liked this design because I can go through the sally port scanner without removing the strap (no metal) and I can easily adjust to any tension level without wearing out the strap. It's not trendy, but what it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in practicality.

I ordered this belt in red back in 2017 and have worn it as a day belt and hiking belt for 3 years and it's great. I ordered black in May. exclusively for carrying a camping knife. The belt is shorter and the material is much cheaper and thinner. I've worn it just as a belt a couple of times and give it a thumbs down. I realize they have switched the material to a lower quality material in the last three years. It's a shame because the buckle is great.

I ordered size XXL which fits up to a 46 inch waist. The total length of the strap I received was 46 inches including the length needed to attach the buckle and the length for the bevel cut for the strap. When I mount the buckle, adjust the waistband so the belt goes 2" through the buckle and the bevel at the end of the belt, the belt is about 41.5" long. .Either I received the wrong length belt or the size on the listing needs to be revised.Most likely the item will be returned.

I was looking for a cute belt that I could either wear with my amphibious shorts without fear of getting them wet, or for everyday wear in places where I'm likely to look for metal equipment would have to search. I chose brown and it goes surprisingly well with all my pants and shorts. It feels solid and is easy to tighten and loosen. When I put it on, it doesn't slip at all.
