everything copied from a professional connector except soldier tips. With only one solid soldier point throughout, I can't recommend this as a good connection. Anything but easy to break the cable connection!

I was hoping another reviewer would be exaggerating about the solder pads on these connectors. Unfortunately, they are worse than I could have imagined. I was expecting to find studs with no holes but found out that these pads are SMALL cylindrical drums on top and bowls. Soldering them would be difficult enough, but would anyone really believe that solder would stand up to the brute force and cable pull that a lavalier mic is subjected to during use? One of the worst plugs I have ever used. The solder joints are too small and have no anchor loops. The earth rod breaks easily, so it cannot be used as an anchor cable. There is no other cable attachment point or strain relief crimp, so already fragile solder joints can easily catch fire and break. Finally, the locking screw can be easily unscrewed and removed. I liked it at first but when unscrewing it they keep falling off and now I've lost them completely. I will never buy this plug again!

Well I'm an electrical engineer and have had an electronics repair business for the past several years. So when I say this port is bad, it is. The locking collar is screwed to the plug so that it disengages from the plug when screwed onto the socket. This connector should be rated for 3 conductors, yes, good luck with that.
