Outdoor Use: Hand Tools

We use these clamps to adjust the tires on our RV. Let's see how well they stand up to UV rays. Very strong brackets. Will even work to train arms.

Ideal for power tools and hand tools

Big size and great work buy more. If you have very weak hands this can be a bit difficult to open. But that's why they work so well. Spring tension keeps them in place

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Zero

Incredibly strong solid grip!

These clamps have an incredibly strong and secure hold. I bought two sizes to secure the tarp we used to cover our patio furniture. These clips have a large surface area and the grip is so tight that the tarpaulin will not come loose during a hurricane. I was particularly impressed that they also include interchangeable tips.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Don't know

Terribly springy consistency

I can't believe how variable the springs on these things are. They all appear to be identical in materials and workmanship, but clamping force varies from very light to very aggressive from one clamp to the next. If it weren't for that, I'd rate them high, but modern production shouldn't be so inconsistent.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Negative Impression

Pads fall off on hand tools

The clamping force and solid construction of these devices are excellent, but the pads suck: They fall off. That's probably why they give you a small parts package. I took them all off and am very happy with the clips. However, they are very stiff, but you won't have good clamping force unless they're tight. Good hand exercises that may not be suitable for people with hand arthritis.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • No performance

Good clamping force good price

I bought two of these. Good bang for the buck. Used for some carpentry work to hold trim pieces in place while the glue dries. Pretty good overall quality, solid/strong downforce, little forward/backward tension/movement of parts when clamp is off-center. I'm glad they are plastic/rubber composite with steel springs rather than solid steel, should have fewer rust issues and should last longer. Composite feels like glass fiber reinforced nylon, nice and tough.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Safety

Well, the clips are strong enough and do their job well, the handle feels good, the rubber on the handles (and not plastic slippers like some people have). The only downside they have is the same as all other cheap spring clips and it's the plastic sponges that randomly pop out on their own and fly around the store never to be seen again. The good news is they give you 4 spares but it won. Doesn't last too long If they had a mechanism to keep the plastic jaws from flying off they would easily…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • So-so

The clamping force and solid construction of these knots is great, but the pads suck: they fall off. That's probably why they give you a small parts package.
