Excellent replacement for mechanical fan e46

Excellent replacement for mechanical clutch and auxiliary fan on e46 with 3 Series automatic transmission. Passes a huge amount of air through the radiator and keeps the car at the right temperature all day long. And this is coming from someone who lives in Florida in July/August. Plugs directly into the existing wiring harness. Goes between the radiator and the engine.

  • Stable test results

Doesn't last a year - engine cooling and air conditioning

I purchased this fan in August 2019 from Revain LLC. It failed and my new expansion tank fell victim to the over pressure caused by that failure. Unlike Advanced Autoparts, which also sells these low-cost parts, Revain LLC does not warrant parts that Revain lists as a seller; Do not buy this part, it has failed many people, and Topaz is a sub-brand of a Shanghai company. I was served by Revain and Topaz.

  • Great for me

So far, so good! for the fans

Seems to be pretty good quality and works great on my 2001 325i. I'm about to order another one for my 2001 330ci. Let's see how long it lasts. Update - Bought last April and just last month it stopped working. I was told I would get a twenty percent refund if I mailed it. It will probably cost around that amount to ship. The other fan is in my mother's car, hopefully that won't fail either. I'll bite the bullet and pay a little more for a more reliable brand like Dorman.

So far so good in engine cooling and air conditioning

Update rating. I bought this fan in April 2018, now in February 2020 everything works as expected. I still recommend this simple upgrade for those with an old fan clutch. If you ever need to work on the car, it's a lot easier to take it off and you don't have to worry about the fan clutch exploding and removing your radiator and other reported components. * *So far so good. I bought this to replace a clutch fan on an 04 325i sedan which I've heard has a tendency to blow out. Everything worksโ€ฆ

Do not try. It's not worth it.

Hello everyone. I'm an experienced mechanic and have been doing all the work on my 2001 BMW 325 since I bought it in 2014. This fan is junk. I ordered and installed in July 2019, in November the control module blew and worked 24/7. I called and the company refunded 90% due to their warranty policy. Then as a mechanic and cheap I decided to hook up a fan so it only runs when the machine is on not all the time and it has been like this for about two weeks since I did this in early December 2019..

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Not sure

cheap and well rated

Good news: It works. I was fed up with removing the fan clutch and there were a lot of metal shavings on it, so I decided to "upgrade" instead of installing a new fan clutch. I thought this has a better rating than more expensive fans. Anyway, the quality looks very good. The plastics appear to be the same as those used by "premium" manufacturers (e.g. Behr Hella). The fan works perfectly and quietly. I removed the sprocket because on the small timing box cover - mine - the bolts were not fully

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities

TOPAZ & CARPARTS ONLINE

TOPAZ CLAIMS IT COMES WITH A 1 YEAR WARRANTY. DON'T SPEND YOUR EARNED MONEY ON YOU! This fan and controller assembly. he is less than 6 MONTHS old and already DEAD! Tonight I discovered that he had been dead for I don't know how long because I had never noticed him on my short trips back and forth to work. THE FAN CONTROLLER WILL NOT START THE FAN. Again the controller came as part of a fanace. Update: UPDATE MY RATING. Carparts Online would not support this but referred me back to Revain whoโ€ฆ

Fan failure after 3,000 miles resulting in coolant tank rupture

After a short time, this fan failed, which eventually caused the pressure in the coolant expansion tank to become too high. The pressure in the tank caused a rupture and eventual loss of all coolant. Luckily it happened while parking and not in a traffic jam. The first sign of failure was warm air being blown through the vents when the air conditioning was turned on. The air only cools when driving fast, as it was a very hot day I figured I needed to cool down first. However, at the nextโ€ฆ
