27% failure rate: body and trim kits

I bought 6-4 pcs. We installed 22 in February 2019. After only 2 months the light started to flicker. In the last 1 1/2 years, 6 junction boxes have failed. This accounts for 27% of failures. It was daunting, but we were able to set the brightness to 30% to stop the flickering. With 100% brightness, you might think we have a club or a disco. Today I finally replaced all the broken boxes with new ones. my wife is happy If this continues, we will be forced to upgrade more and more expensive…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Poor instructions

One doesn't work, one flickers. I thought the issues mentioned in the reviews would be resolved. nope Malfunction. The probability of these long probabilities is small. Dreadful. updates. Read the comment on the photo. Downgraded to zero stars if I could. They want me to take out the junction box or bulb and inspect it so I can determine what they need to replace. When I asked if they were joking they said contact Revain and they could send you four new ones. DON'T BUY THIS SHIT. TERRIBLE…

Nice lights buy pipe fittings

Easy installation if pre wired and there is a loft/open access. Tools I recommend: Drywall handsaw, 4" or 6" house cutters, wire cutters, tape (to further secure the wires, and WIRE FITTINGS! Yes, they didn't come with fittings, so we're talking sheet metal, not wire sheathing Fittings are not supplied so although I already have them installed I will be removing them shortly to put in pipe fittings to see if they will last a few years.

Pros
  • Nice part
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Very easy to install and looks great!

This is my second set of Torchstar thin lights. I bought this 4 pack for my son's bedroom. Easy to install, simply use a template to cut a hole, match the colors of the wires on your Romex, secure, close the box and lift, bend the spring clips and plug in the light into the hole. Sometimes when I NEED to find a negative it is that when using 12-2 wiring and a mid-range light the box seems a bit small and if you don't clamp everything properly the door will open. It would also be cool if they…

  • Absolutely amazing!

Great solution, easy to install

I'm new to electrical engineering. I can set up a fan or a light, change a switch or outlet, etc. But I've never really looked into backstage lighting. During virus season, I decided to learn a new skill. I wanted to replace two large fluorescent tubes in a basement false ceiling room to convert the room into a guest room. I didn't want to put recessed lights where there weren't any before, so I was glad I found that option. The first piece of advice I got from looking at lights and some…

Not as good as expected for Torchstar

A few years ago I discovered Torchstar recessed lighting during a small renovation project. On my current project I bought the Jullison brand to save a few bucks but the audible "buzz" inspired me to return them and buy Torchstar products because of the good experience I had and the dimming range ( supposedly) only is 5 units. % (most boring to 10%). Unfortunately the quality was not what I had experienced with previous Torchstar purchases. Few issues but being a basic product I couldn't help…
