The right product for me, the price suited me.

Continued from Alex E. In the photo, you can see the disc + packaging of this disc, as it was sold in one well-known chain of stores. You see a plastic case. There were no fillings, no adhesive tape, no extra nonsense for you). A new server drive must be sold in a sealed anti-static bag! I had doubts and I went to the manufacturer's website . Toshiba.Com/myapps/admin/jsp/webrma/addRequest1NoLogin. Jsp and entered the disk's serial number. 2022 (pictured) - 2022 (release date on disc label) =

Pros
  • Quiet. I was wrong about the noise. I mounted it to the desktop like a regular drive. The case apparently amplified the sound, and quite significantly. I put the disk on the case now and it is not audible. Here is a recording of how the drive itself works.
Cons
  • Toshiba warranty only through the disc seller. You will not be able to ship a broken drive directly to the manufacturer. Dancing with the seller provided.

Received at the point of issue, where the girl was not particularly careful with the parcels. I was walking home and thought that I might have to return it back because there would be problems with the disks. But everything worked out!

Pros
  • The disc, contrary to expectations, turned out to be not very noisy, its heads chirp during recording, but the noise level is comfortable. Drive temperatures are lower than older drives in my NAS. Drives are RAID 1 in Synology NAS. So far, the initialization of the disks in the system has passed and I start recording the family archive of photos, videos and documents on them.
Cons
  • The quality of the packaging leaves much to be desired, and as I understand it, this is not at all the factory packaging, just a suitable box with sticks about the product in the warehouse. Inside the box, the disc was in a sealed antistatic bag, lined with a pimply film.

Low noise? Icomnnected it today, installed the OS - it feels like a chainsaw was turned on in the room. At what I do not find fault, this is not a crunch, like from Seagate. Here I recorded a video for future buyers of his real noise when the operating system is loaded. If you listen with headphones, you will feel what I heard in real life) If the disk is in quiet mode (no writing / reading), a low-frequency hum is felt. He is clearly audible. This CD is definitely not for the home! I'm going…

Pros
  • Volume.
Cons
  • Noise!

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

I was also sold a disk just in a plastic case, but upon receipt I checked the serial number on the Toshiba website - the disk is new, not refurbished, with a full warranty. Pros: One of the best price/volume ratios. Good speed for everyday tasks. Has some cons: Constantly, every second clicks heads. This is a clatter, and not the usual crackle during operation. Terribly annoying. According to SMART, everything is in order - not a malfunction.

The drive was bought to replace a Seagate ST5000DX000 in a Lacie d2 USB 3 Thunderbolt case (LAC9000465) that got badblocked after 5 years of 24/7 operation. There were fears that the box would not "see" the new disc, but they were in vain, everything worked perfectly. Thunderbolt speed ~230 MB/s for large read/write files. The temperature after 6 hours of intensive copying of files to the device is 35 C (in the same mode, the old disk warmed up to 40 C), despite the fact that there is no fan in

Pros
  • Speed, noiselessness, little heat, price
Cons
  • As long as everything suits. If it is important for someone, then non-standard lower mounting holes (out of 4 holes 2 did not converge).

Good product, not disappointed.

Pros below: Quiet, classic recording, fast, best price/capacity ratio. Cold, due to helium. Got cons: Well, very noisy heads, no, really very noisy, I haven’t heard such a cod for a long time, as the 90s returned. At home, nas can cause significant discomfort

Disgusting quality, impossible to use.

I bought a disk, installed it, started clicking, but judging by the reviews on the Internet, this is a normal practice. Six months after the purchase, it began to turn off when installed in a horizontal position. I installed it in a vertical position in order to merge data, and lo and behold, it stopped turning off. True, it was enough for another month of work, after which he began to turn off in any position. Replaced under warranty. The new disk worked for a little over a year, and also…

Pros
  • Big and fast
Cons
  • Unsuccessful model - quickly fails
