We used these to replace the many weaker plastic hangers used on our band's uniforms. They are much thicker than traditional wire hangers. The maximum weight they can carry is a bag with a suit and a pair of shoes. Don't go any further!

These are not the sturdy steel shackles available from The Container Store. They're a little better than the "old fashioned" steel hangers you can buy at your local store (Target, Meijers, etc.). If you buy them as regular shirt hangers they are good but for winter coats they are not that durable. Double them up if you have a heavy object to distribute the weight.

I have these because the fabric covered hangers you see these days or the plastic ones take up too much space. I wanted metal straps that weren't in the skinny dollar store. They have a solid thickness so I'm happy with them. They're also a bit thinner than the fabric-covered models and a lot thinner than the plastic ones, so when I hang shirts on them they take up a little less space in my closet.
