The old saying: you get what you pay for. Very bad reception. It looks like a 6 year old child's toy. This is a free radio that the bank gives you when you open an account. refund me lesson learned

This is a great radio for the weather or broadcaster. We're tourists, so if we see bad weather coming, we cheer it on and tune into the appropriate station based on our location. This is a great radio for the price and of course you have to be smarter than the radio to get the right station. :). We bought it for camping and then bought additional radios as gifts for family members and then I bought one for the house. Good radio/weather alarm!

I purchased this emergency radio from a local dealer for about ten dollars. The dynamo works, but I've never managed to get 30 minutes of radio time out of a minute or more of running as instructed. In fact, I'm lucky to have 3 minutes or even a minute. Using headphones buys you more time as the radio's two speakers obviously use a lot more power than small headphones. Either way, it takes a minute or so at best. I don't want to be in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and turn on the radio…

The Totes Weather Work Emergency Weather Radio is a great value radio and you usually get what you pay for. But in this case you get a lot less than what you pay for. I looked for handheld radios and settled on two: the C Crane Solar Observer radio and the Totes emergency weather radio. The small size makes it perfect for keeping in a backpack or trunk, and the radio reception isn't bad, but don't expect the same performance that a real radio delivers.
