Great concept. That does not work.

Installed a new stereo in my beloved 2005 Scion xB. There was an area it could go to. Plugged it into a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX USB port, then an Apple USB cable and off we went. Constantly dimming the stereo screen etc. So today I turned it off, went straight to the radio, all questions gone. So things are going backwards.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Exactly as advertised and just what I needed

I just installed a new CarPlay radio in my 2006 Tundra. It had a USB output port. I pulled out one of the blanks on my lower console, installed it, and plugged the radio's USB output into the adapter. Works perfectly. Charges my phone and allows me to use CarPlay with the radio. That's what it's for.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No performance

Fits 4th Gen 4Runners without modification

Purchased to complete the installation of a Pioneer radio that supports Android Auto (requires a USB plug-in). Installed on Toyota 4Runner 2006. Unplugged it from the factory and it fits perfectly. Up to this point it is also fully functional. I bought the 42mm size. My only concern is durability. When I plugged in my USB cable, it was very tight. But I don't plan on disconnecting the USB cable, so I don't think that will be a problem.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great

Will not fit Toyota 2016 + Tundra or Sequoia

I bought adapters to fill the empty ports in my dash and found that if I physically had the USB ports in my hand there was no way gave to open them unless I did a hack job with them. I decided that I would rather find a suitable kit than look at what I was forced to assemble. Fit Toyota.

Pros
  • Decent performance

The most valuable part is the bracket

My Pioneer Android Auto connection started dropping a few minutes after installing this USB adapter. It turned out that the USB cable was causing problems, so I had to remove it (breaking the adapter clip in the process) and just plug the head unit's straight USB cable into this adapter bracket. $12 is a lot for a piece of plastic, but it works great now. Great for 4th gen 4runners.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Full high-speed communication and high-conduction fast charge from the main unit to the new LG V60 flagship phone. A very professional looking result with FULL functionality.
