Works mostly as advertised but lacks 16 color zones and custom effects in the app. Of course, it was only released this week, but not having these important features on day one is very disappointing. The rating will be revised once all advertised features are available. Also, additional lightbars are not yet available.

When ordering make sure to check the bottom of the box to see if you received version 1 or version 2 of the light bar. I have version 1 and noticed a high pitched beep coming from the power supply. After contacting TPLink, they found out that this is a defect. I reordered through Revain to avoid the return shipping cost and they sent me version 2. Unfortunately, there's no way to choose which version you get. So far when using version 2 there hasn't been a slightly shrill sound as in version 1.

I love these super simple and economical LED strips. They are bright enough and with the Kasa app you can use some really cool lighting effects like aurora, candles and lollipops. My installation for 4 individual cabinet sections took less than 45 minutes. It assumes that you can click the plus sign (+) and the effect will be saved. It doesn't work at all.
