Slightly thinner than expected

High quality leather. There are no stains on the skin side. A little thinner than I expected but it worked. I mounted it on MDF because I wanted the back to hold its shape and stay flat. I tighten the skin, not the flesh. Some parts may be thinner than others, but that is the nature of the natural material. If you cut often enough, sharpening is often unnecessary. Unless you break or fold the edge. With these and some recipes, I can cut my hair without having to buy those 6000 grit whetstones.

Neat leather, smoothes out quickly and a bit thin but works well

Top grain leather with very rough cut grain on reverse. No tanner makes this suitable for loading green compound, although either this leather or my compound is very picky because this leather goes slick almost instantly which means I have to clean it more often than I would like. The thickness of the skin is questionable and I would like something thicker to get better fungal growth around my blades when I straighten them but this is not a sale product so there is no discount on it. Ideal sling for attaching to a piece of wood.

Media could not be loaded. This leather strap is just what I needed to strap on planers, chisels and kitchen knives. I simply glued this piece of leather to a piece of mahogany board using 2x3g Gorilla Super Glue. This allows me to attach any item I want. I can clamp the piece of wood in a vise and go.
