The device smelled like burnt plastic and deformed the bottom of the device.

The second time this device was used (used only USB ports), it overheated and burned out both USB ports. The device smelled like burnt plastic and warped the bottom of the device near the USB ports.

These items sold by Revain are not in new condition.

I bought my first unit and it came with obvious cosmetic wear, exchanged it for another and the second one I received also had obvious cosmetic wear. I think Tripp-Lite might be selling their refurbished Revain units at discounted prices. I'd say it's still good value for money as long as they honor a guarantee.

The clamping voltage is incorrectly listed on the Triplite website.

Triplite claims on its website that the UL 1449 (3rd Edition) clamping voltage is 330V. On the product label itself the actual clamping voltage is 400V. It was probably not collected from child slaves. It is rated UL1449 (3rd Edition), meaning it will not catch fire and meets the level of surge protection stated on its label.
