Product NOT WORKING as intended

This is supposed to be a 7 port USB 3.0 hub. Tripp-Lite used to be a trusted brand. The first one I bought from Revain only had 3 working ports. Revain sent me a 'used' replacement which was completely dead (no power). The next "new" replacement had the same problem as the first. Then I called Tripp-Lite and the support was great. They sent me a replacement and told me to throw out the "bad" one. The only problem was that only the same 3 3.0 ports worked for him too. Since then, this sequenceโ€ฆ

OK product: Computer accessories and peripherals

When I opened the box, I found that someone else had also opened the box and used the product. The Tripp-Lite website says the power supply is rated for 2 amps. I have a 1 amp power supply which may or may not be original. I bought this device because I have several power hungry devices that need that extra boost and the previous two devices I bought just couldn't take it. Like Revain, Tripp-Lite enjoys an excellent reputation. I will not blame them for someone else buying the unit, taking theโ€ฆ

Works great: USB Hubs

I don't have any USB 3 devices yet, but this hub works well with USB 2. The power cord could be longer and I'd rather have all the ports on the back. It seems to be the winner. Update: I bought two of these about 3 years ago and they both failed at the exact same time this week 22nd January 2014. Both were connected to Tripplite ISOBAR6. I'm still not sure what caused the error, but it seems odd that both failed at the same time. There are no failures in other devices. I'm not sure what theโ€ฆ

Works well (but only with a good cable)

Overall, this USB 3.0 hub works great with other USB products. Please note that for use with some products, you need to plug it into an outlet. I don't think it's worth $45 but didn't want to wait for the price to drop. Anyway, my USB 3.0 compatible computer didn't recognize it at first. After troubleshooting and reconnecting the hub to my computer with my own USB 3.0 cable, it worked fine and recognized all my devices. -Technical sales support and timely assistance from a polite and helpfulโ€ฆ
