I tried these gaiters on a winter hike in New Hampshire and they worked great. I ordered a small and was afraid it would be too tight for hiking boots and snow, but the pants fit perfectly (I wear 4-6 in pants and 8 in hiking boots). However, they can be too tight for climbing shoes, especially double boots. In this case, I would recommend increasing the size. You will not feel any pain.

Very good quality. The strap that fits under the sole is made of easy-to-clean rubber material, and you can wrap the gaiters snugly around your shoe or boot. The clasp is easy to attach to the cord. One of the brackets needed to be widened a bit, it's easy to do. Adjustment around the top of the calf keeps it level. Velcro is wide. Slightly warmer than needed in warm weather, even better in heavy rain, snow or mud.

These things are amazing and work great. It's comfortable and feels like you're not wearing pants. As a courier driver I have to drive through a lot of snow and I'm just tired of having snow in my boots all day. My husband used them for the Tough Mudder course who had no problems with other brands of gaiters. They didn't even survive the first 2 miles (flat, grassy and muddy; no rocky terrain) before the velcro strap separated from the rest of the gaiters. He took it off and put it in his pocket, but it got lost somewhere for the rest of the course. There wasn't enough "relief" for these Spats to see such a catastrophic failure. I would not recommend this brand.

I use it when I go hiking off-road. They are very comfortable and protect my shoes and socks from thorns, pesky seeds and mites! The stitching is very high quality and I haven't had a single issue with it in the months I've had it! I have the blue ones so they are very eye catching, I should have chosen a different color but they are great and do the job! Remember that wearing spats adds another layer, so your shins heat up faster. !

These gaiters are very well made in my experience. There is a Velcro closure along the entire length of the gaiter. The lanyard hook is well placed. But when we had our first big snow a few weeks ago, I couldn't put the gaiters on my winter boots. So I had to leave a gap in the middle of the velcro to accommodate the fluffy top of the winter boots. If I wear them with sneakers or running shoes, they fit. But that's not what I wear in the mountain snow. For this reason I give them three stars.

These socks are great value for money. I have used this Mt. They were quite tight around my calves and ankles but were comfortable. They are fixed over the entire length of the leggings with Velcro. The only minor issue was that it couldn't wrap completely around the neck of the climbing shoes so there was a small gap in the middle that couldn't be repaired, but that didn't cause any problems as the gaiters stayed attached.
