I wanted something light and well fitting to protect my ribs. I broke them twice. The triple defense has done its job. After a hard fall, I got up and felt good. Didn't know I was going through some rocks and coming towards them.

According to the size chart on Troy Lee's website, an XL should have fit me, but it was too big. Size L fits perfectly so judging by some reviews from others they seem to be too big. Some pads are removable for easy cleaning. Overall I'm happy with the product and I hope I never have to crash test it.

I wear this when riding my motorcycle off-road. I originally wore medium, it was a little tight in the chest and arms, I switched to a large and became much more comfortable. I weigh 170 pounds, chest 40 inches, beefy arms. Wearing with a cotton tank top is most comfortable, I also wear a tank top over it, even at 90+ degrees with little airflow it's ok. I dried off several times and this shirt fully protected my elbows, arms and shoulders. I also wear soft Troy Lee shorts.

I ordered this very reluctantly as it seemed to me that TLD would just use its name to sell almost anything 2 wheel related but I couldn't find another product find one that seemed to fit my needs. and also this.
