Waste of money: cup holder

I bought this to put a cup holder in my Subaru but it just sits on its side. It's WAY overpriced - a real POS. You can put a pair of crumpled socks in and get more support for your cup.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • update availability

Fits great, with modifications.

When I first tried to install this, it didn't fit properly. I had to cut off the tabs on the bottom before it snapped into place. Now it fits great. However, it doesn't seem to be particularly durable. If it breaks I'll try to find it in a landfill, but I'd be surprised if I could.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Security

Garbage. Doesn't do his only job.

Do not buy! It's garbage. Easy and uncomplicated. Can't stand to put a drink next to it. One or both of the spring-loaded tabs will fully detach from the main clip, and good luck re-attaching. Basically, it doesn't fulfill its sole purpose and I regret the purchase. I should have just gone to the junkyard and got an old cup holder insert. Now that I've gone through the return window, I'm stuck with this junk.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

I can not install (probably stupid)

So you're paying a little more for a non-OEM part (looks like there's a $12 OEM replacement here, which I only found out in hindsight, well). The springs seem strong enough contrary to previous reviews so something may have changed. What frustrates me is that I can't install it. I have a 2011 Subaru Outback and the four prongs on the underside of this part won't let me push it deep enough to latch. I've searched the internet and ALL the replacement parts seem to have these prongs so I'm clearly

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
