Useful but sometimes not the right research

I love Compass Pro. I use it all the time to watch videos, open my iPad when using a Bluetooth keyboard, or to handwrite. The only problem I have is that the back part that slides out to make the corner as vertical as possible starts to fail over time and slowly slides back in. It's a bit annoying and I have to constantly adapt. That being said, my tablet has never been dropped or compromised, and I have a 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Aside from the slip issues, I highly recommend it. Most likely, this…

Great kickstand stand

Quality feel and look, very solid construction and works great with my iPad 9.7 and Nintendo Switch. The switch fits perfectly so I'm using it now instead of the special one I bought. Downgraded to 2 stars 9 months later. There is a very small piece of metal that prevents the middle leg from fully opening. It broke after 6 months of little use. Now the stand opens too wide and is completely unusable. This looks like a design flaw and based on the feedback I'm not the only one with this issue.

Unwanted Product: Tablet Accessory

I liked the portability of this little gem. However, the fact that he is already 6 months old annoyed me a bit. The back leg holding the iPad upright slides further and the leg straps are loose. Everything seems to unravel. I use this little stand to hold my iPad while listening to music and have to keep stopping and pulling my foot out. Now I just put some books under the chute and didn't even pull them out. I would buy it again. NO! Update: Since I wrote this article, this article has…

Questionable upgrade from the original compass

The original compass really is the best. The Compass Pro is a throwback in terms of some of the most compelling design features like weight. The fold-out spikes are an improvement, and the space gray finish, which Amazon calls silver, looks very stylish. However, the extended rear arm adds only a few degrees and is almost invisible in terms of added functionality and comfort. It also doesn't work well with the iPad Mini in portrait mode or the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (unstable). This compass is also

Works perfectly! for stand

It's getting to the point that I'm starting to ignore half of the negative reviews. I think some people just like to write negative reviews. This stand is very sturdy, well made and reliable. I think this is the third or fourth iPad Pro stand I've bought. This one is lighter, better finished and easier to set up than the others. Now I have one for browsing and one for typing and gaming. Not all coasters go with everything, but I am pleased with the flexibility and style of this coaster.

  • New to my collection

Exactly what I needed!

Overview of the compass pro (silver). This is the fastest verification I've ever done. I owned the stand for less than an hour (to full disclosure). But this is a very basic device and you'll quickly see that it's solid, well made and works exactly as advertised. The small "hands" holding the tablet stand out as the most likely parts to fail over time. But they are not skinny. I would call them durable plastic. Everything else is metal and feels solid with weight. It can be a little pricey for…

Pros
  • Not cheap, but neat
Cons
  • Without machine gun

I expected more from tablet accessories

Probably the best iPad stand available in this form factor. However. It has serious flaws: 1. This thing is HEAVY for its size. If you're looking for an iPad stand that caters to "portable culture," the size is great, but the weight is terrible. I don't know why they didn't use another strong yet light alloy, especially for the price.2. Not only is it heavy, but the hinge design is flawed (again, probably due to the alloy used). There is a fragile piece of metal on the hinge that prevents the…
