Painful installation and fragility

I did not expect this product to have a complicated installation process, but once you choose the height of the backpack, there is no turning back. One of my drives had a shorter cable than expected and I had to lower my backpack, which was so frustrating that I gave up. I was still able to find a way to connect the drive, but only in a very dangerous position. I like the idea here, but at this price point I feel the execution should have been more user-friendly. Great device, keeps your external SSD secure

One of the best accessories I've ever bought and worth the money if you use a 2.5" external drive (like an SSD) as your boot device (like I did) or want a hidden and safe place for a drive permanently attached to your iMac. Very strong and sturdy, and it comes with several different sized plastic inserts for anchor clips, allowing you to mount your iMac both high and low on the base stand There are also those rubberized "pins" that you can insert into any of the hundreds of holes on the tray's…

Pros
  • Nice looks
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Bought two of these. One of them arrived with a broken or missing weld that was supposed to secure the bolt to the clamp while holding the load. I contacted Twelve South support and they sent me a replacement clip, but I'm no longer sure I should use this product to store something as fragile as a floppy drive or Macbook Air (as they show in their reports ). Photo). If the BackPack shelf fails and drops a $1500 computer, it's not of much use if they offer to replace the $35 shelf or the 30 cent

Brilliant invention!

Everyone with an iMac or iMac Pro needs one. (Two in my case.) A great way to clean up your computer. Instead of braided discs and cables, mine are more organized than before. The shelves allow you to essentially align the drive with the back of your iMac so it doesn't take up desk space. You can also use shorter cables (included) to be even cleaner. They also come with pins to allow thin discs to be folded onto their side allowing more than one to be placed on the platform. I bought 2…
