I bought these boots for my 18 month old grandson who was just learning to hike. He needed a durable, waterproof boot that would support his feet and ankles on rough terrain with rocks and tree roots. These boots are made just like adult hiking boots and are as durable as the trails he travels! He walks well in them and doesn't trip, so we know they fit perfectly. The stitching along the sole is cosmetic only, the boot is glued to the sole. The forefoot separated from the rest of the shoe after only a few months. It also scratches very easily.
