🚙 u-Box 7 inch Headlight Mounting Bracket Retainer Ring Mount in Black for 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ Review

Perfect match for my 2000 TJ. Unlike regular frames, getting my headlights (aftermarket, not stock) back with them was a bit difficult. These are a little thicker. But everything went back to normal, just needed a little digging and elbow lubricating.

The item in question looks great. Plastic bezel with a matte black finish. But why don't the screws fit my 2005 TJ? I'm not sure why that is. I read several reviews about the same problem. Requested a replacement and it's still not my turn. I would happily revise my poor rating if this item could be installed as it looks like a quality frame.

When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The fit and finish are well done and they feel solid for what they are, much better than the OEM stainless steel rings. Yes, they are painted steel, not stainless steel. Like any painted steel that weathers with scratches or dents, they will rust. After all, they are on the front of the jeep. Just touch them when they need it.

Good quality. I bought the kit for the first generation RX-7 and the new Hella headlights because I knew it wouldn't be ideal. I was willing to make it work instead of abandoning the car if I continued my search. The rings don't match the contour of the Hella lights, and the four slots don't match the three on the body. I had to use millimeters to attach the two slots to the case.

Replaces the stock headlight brackets in my 1997 Wrangler TJ. Old OEM metal brackets had most of the welds broken on the side tabs. The new mounting bracket is molded from one piece of plastic and therefore has no brake spot welds. Fits perfectly and comes with new screws despite the product description saying 'screws not included' - a nice and welcome product update! Easy Installation - If you have a torx screwdriver jeep is required.

I bought these for some Truck-Lite Hard Headlights on my 2005 LJ and they did not fit. The inside diameter isn't even close, and it would require at least 1/16 inch stock removal, maybe more, to fit around the hard lantern. I then ordered Omix-Ada 12420.02 locking rings and they fit the Rigids like a glove. The finish and durability is better with the u-box and they're cheaper too, hence the 2 stars, but I didn't feel like filing and dremelling them to make them work with a standard size…
