If you need to use a lot of cotton this is less expensive than 4oz. rolls in boxes. You have the ability to measure out the exact amount you need for each application. Regular cotton "poufs" are too small to be of any use to me. Remember this is not sterile cotton. However, it is very soft and clean enough with no impurities. Such larger buns used to be sold in supermarkets and pharmacies, but that seems a long time ago.

We cut this into squares to clean our Chihuahua's ears because he gets ear infections quite often. It's the same one the vet had so we decided to buy it. It's a lot easier to cut your own square than using cotton balls (they're too small). And for that purpose it's great because you can really stick your finger in and clean his ears (sorry for the rudeness). Dog's ear canal is crooked, so cotton swabs don't really work. This cotton roll arrived on time in undamaged packaging. Cotton, although bright white, had many small lumps. It was and is very unattractive. When the ball is dipped in nail polish remover, the cotton will do the job quite well. However, it doesn't wrap around the orange rod as smoothly as I'd like. I really don't feel any lumps with the facial cleanser. Will not buy this product again.

Bought this for the second time (this purchase) after needing a large amount of rolled cotton to clean my dog's chronically infected ears. Rolled medical cotton, even non-sterile, is very expensive and short-lived. That works great. I can take as many as I need, as often as I need.
