Received this item for the first time as a birthday gift. Lasted about a year. During that time it dropped after 5-10 mph on speed bumps or right-angle corners. The trick is to fully seat the clips. They'll loosen up over time, so you'll need to push them all the way in. After I pressed, the clips burst. Ordered again and so far so good. Not bad for 2 years and I haven't found another type that works better.

I have used various mobile phone holders and this magnetic device works best. It still flies out of the vents from time to time, but it holds up better than most. (That doesn't work so well with round rotating car air vents, by the way.) Oddly, the 3M tape that's supposed to attach the metal plate to your phone case doesn't work on my latest plastic iPhone case - had to use super glue.
