Handy set but fell apart on my first race

I really liked this set and bought it for my 50k run that I just finished. I knew there would be a minimum number of assist points in the race due to safety precautions, so I wanted to bring whatever I needed with me. As I ran I felt something hit my leg and when I looked down it was my bottle on the left. The seams came undone and the bottle fell out. Very disappointing to have to carry a bottle to the end of the race.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • loose change

Customer service is disappointing

I used to love my old UD vests so I figured I'd better bite the price and come back. The vest was great but the bottle came with a defect which caused it to leak. This is where I was completely surprised at how terrible the customer service was. All I need is a spare bottle but since they don't take calls; Response to an email or a message on FB I don't know if a replacement bottle will be sent :( I definitely expected more.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons

Holes formed fairly quickly in soft bottles.

The bottle bags were different sizes, after about a month holes formed in the bottles. For a medium size I found it a bit small, wish I had gone up a size. I'm usually between sizes. Best of all, it's very light weight, so that's a plus. It seemed to me that when I put a two-liter tank in the vest, it took up most of my space. The vest was comfortable but I sent it back after about a month of use due to the holes in the soft bottles. The bottles shake too. It's hard to get used to.

Comfortable but not overly durable

I have had the 3rd version of this vest for over 2 years and have always been happy with the way it feels and everything I have had to wear so I decided to upgrade to a newer version. It is lighter and more comfortable than the previous version. I've been a few runs and everything is holding up. The problem is to make it lighter, the pockets are smaller and don't see it standing for long. One of the cords holding the back has already snapped and I can see the other parts are worn. Overall I…

The vest is great, the body bottles are a joke.

I am an avid runner. I've been using Ultimate Direction products for a long time. This vest is a great continuation of the vest they've been doing well for years and a great upgrade. However, body bottles are a joke. See reviews for bottles only. I also bought a portable clutch so I used three body bottles and two out of three leaked in just over a month. These leaks are not in the seams but in the bends when the bottles are emptied. It really amazes me. I have older bottles and they still hold

Ticket for easy and fast travel

Note. I've ridden 40 mountain miles through rough terrain with this vest, which isn't enough to speak of its durability. But so far so good. Fast hiking, no cross-country running. The transition from backpack to vest was a big step. Love that it rides up and you can easily move your arms to climb. Even when loaded, it is snug and stays in place. Nothing jumps. Accessing the zippered phone pocket on the right side is a bit tricky, but that's my only design issue and it doesn't matter to me. I've

i really like it just a few things. - UPDATED

Pros: - Super light - Adjust on the fly, I didn't know how much I would like it. I always thought set it and forget it, but breathing changes, the weight of the pack adjusts to hold more/less water and gear as you run. - The bottles are *pretty* good...more on that below. They don't leak, stay open to dry after use, and fit easily in a backpack.- It's hard to find the perfect vest. It is very good. Cons: - I wore it shirtless and I have a scab from the vest connection that scratches my skin…
