UltrAspire 550 Race Handheld Blue/Gray, Universal Size Review

I've been running with this handheld drinking bottle for about a month and I really like it. It's easy to hold on to for long runs as the wrist strap means you don't really need to hold onto it to hold onto it. This is very important on long runs as it doesn't put any strain on your arms. It doesn't drip at all and the valve opens and closes easily. If you have big hands, the strap may be a little tight. Overall a great product for runners.

I like the design where I don't squeeze this bottle during the race like I would in a marathon. Plus, the solid bottle makes it easy to refill electrolytes with power - it's free standing as long as you open the tailwind pack. Very comfortable to hold. Easy to clean. I wish there was a pouch/pocket for storing electrolytes/saline pills [allows for easy access]. I will continue to use this bottle for non-marathon races.

I used this bottle for 2 marathons. It was great when I first used it in October 2020. It fits my hand well and doesn't leak at all, although I had to press the lid very gently to make sure it was fully closed. I used it for my second marathon today in May 2021. After about 13 km it started to leak. No matter how hard I tried to press the lid, drops of water flowed out. So this will be the last time I use this bottle for racing. It was almost the perfect bottle for runners. Its 500ml is the perfect amount of water for long runs for me. I don't like to carry anything bigger with me. The bottle has a nice contour and feels good in the hand. The bottle strap fits well and after about 3 weeks it is firmly in my hand. My only complaint is that the bottle is made of very soft plastic, which gives the water a slightly plastic taste, especially on long runs on a sunny day.
