Too long - disproportionate to what it looks like in the picture. It comes down to my daughter's knees and she is of average height for her age.

She loves wearing skirts and dresses, but biking, climbing through the jungle, or staying covered at recess on a windy day is one thing, but not with this one! It's really great, but if you have a size 8 child, go up a size. They are perfect for a size 7. Our daughter is thinner than a size 8 but has very muscular thick thighs. This makes the shorts on them a little snuggly for them. She has some sensory issues so nothing can be cozy. The waistband is not very soft and unforgiving, so plus-size children will need tight clothing or a larger size for this. Otherwise the pattern and material are great. My daughter is very picky about her clothes - she doesn't want to be too girly and she needs to be comfortable. I got her to choose a skirt for our cruise - we order a few different styles and she likes these the best. The ruffles aren't too ruffled and the shorts aren't too tight.

Beware! Not all colors have shorts under the skirt. The description says the product has shorts but the skirts I received did not.

One of the two shorts arrived with a hole in the fabric near the waistband. I patched the hole and it won't be noticeable under an open shirt, but it's a pity the new clothes have damage.

I went back and made sure I got this item and there were no fitted shorts for the pink black and white striped version I ordered so I guess it's my fault for not including that in my order noticed. Very cute skirts. You may want to buy a size up (or dry without washing) as they will shrink a lot after the first wash (wash cold, medium dry). Now they are too short for my daughter but they were very cute.

My 7 year old girl is small for her age but they fit perfectly without sagging. The shorts are a little shorter than the skirt but still provide coverage so she looks cute and can still spin her wheels without showing her panties.

The shorts are super cute, great for play and great with school uniform. The only thing I didn't like was that the seams are wrinkled after washing, making all the seams look ruffled. It's not scary and you can still wear it.
