BE-126 🎾 Ball Head by Oben Review

It would be ideal if it came with BE-126 (Arca-Swiss plate) instead of BA-126 (Manfrotto plate). Revain is supposed to ship the correct item as I am returning the wrong item. However, this top ball head looks great. I have traditionally used Manfrotto RC2 mounts and decided to switch to Arca-Swiss for my lighter mirrorless rigs. When I have the right model I will update this review.

I recently purchased a travel tripod that has a 26 lb capacity. However, I didn't like the included ball head. I bought it to replace the head and I'm glad I did. Even though the other ball head was from a well-known tripod manufacturer, this ball head seemed more durable and easier to use. The ride is smooth and feels more secure than other ball heads. Reasonable price for a quality ball head. This is my second ball head from above and I highly recommend it.

Bought used from Revain. The seller sent very quickly. Item looks new and works great. I have never used a separate tripod ball head. It seems good. Very solid construction, silky smooth control and the ball head sits very firmly with little effort on the control knob. When released, it has just enough tension to be easily repositioned. Has a spirit level on the Arca Swiss mounting head. In my opinion a very nice ball head. Highly recommend this seller and buy from them again.

UPDATED: My diving problem was user error. I did not tighten the thumbscrew on the camera plate enough. As long as you make sure the thumbscrew is snug against the camera plate, this thing can easily support a lot of weight. Tested vertical shooting with a plate mounted on the camera (not the tripod ring on the lens) with a 70-200 f/2.8 lens and the result was consistent. This is the most extreme weight most users can handle. The main adjustment knob was still leaking fluid when it was new…
