Some customers claim that there is something wrong with the lightbulb because when you turn on the flashlight, it flickers and then goes out. This is NOT a lamp problem! Some flashlights that originally came with incandescent bulbs have a cut-off circuit when the battery is low to avoid destroying the battery (nickel-cadmium batteries). I know of two examples: Milwaukee 49-24-0155 and 49-24-0165. When you turn it on, it powers the bulb, but when the power is low, it turns it off. If you have a…

Pros
  • ✔ Widely used - DC 5V to 24V (Ryobi 18V, Makita 18V, DeWalt 18V, Decker 18V, etc.) The power varies from 2W to 3W. It works well above 9V (6 cells) .

A bright spot in the center may not always be what you want.

I have already installed similar LED converter units in flashlights with PR lamps and so far they all have one common disadvantage; The emitter has a focusing lens that concentrates most of the chip power into a narrow beam. Essentially, any flashlight you fit one of these into becomes a spot beam. There is also a large illuminated circle around it, but the light level there is much lower. Even if the flashlight has a nominal focus function, you probably won't get an evenly distributed light…

Pros
  • ✔ LONGEVITY - More than 50,000 operating hours. The lamp gets warm during operation, but this does not affect its function.
Cons
  • I will add later

Absolutely Terrible / Update 17.04.20 - see below

The first one I received had a crumpled tip. Was replaced by a second one. 2. does not work. I replaced the light bulb, turned it on, a low light bulb blinked and nothing. Replaced it with a lightbulb and it works. Replaced again, a faint blink, then nothing. TO UPDATE! 4/17: Believe it or not, it works. The problem is that this bulb CANNOT work with all regular flashlights! The depth between the flared end and the tip where the lamp connects to the spring/battery can vary by 1/32 inch. This is

Pros
  • ✔ Powerful LED bulb - 3W Cree LED chips, up to 200lm, 6000K daylight, P13.5S base.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
