Review on πŸ’‘ Enhanced DC5 24V LED Flashlight Retrofit Solution by Lindsay Siebert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

IMPORTANT! Fast flash then off? Flicker? Rechargeable NiCd flashlights Caution!

Some customers claim that there is something wrong with the lightbulb because when you turn on the flashlight, it flickers and then goes out. This is NOT a lamp problem! Some flashlights that originally came with incandescent bulbs have a cut-off circuit when the battery is low to avoid destroying the battery (nickel-cadmium batteries). I know of two examples: Milwaukee 49-24-0155 and 49-24-0165. When you turn it on, it powers the bulb, but when the power is low, it turns it off. If you have a lightbulb that draws very little current (like these LEDs), the circuit will think the battery is low and turn it off. Hence the flash. I bypassed the low battery circuit (I'm an alien) and now it works great with this LED bulb. That. Very convenient for camping.

Pros
  • βœ” Widely used - DC 5V to 24V (Ryobi 18V, Makita 18V, DeWalt 18V, Decker 18V, etc.) The power varies from 2W to 3W. It works well above 9V (6 cells) .
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
