and hard to find for the delicate electronic work I bought it for

I didn't realize how thick it was. I have to say I'm not used to working with silver solder; and hard to find for the fine electronic work I bought it for. But it is as advertised. I don't use silver solder for normal electronics. I made a circuit for a microphone, so this choice.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

Great silver solder, great price.

I bought this solder because I don't like the lead fumes from more traditional lead based solders. Obviously the fumes aren't great, but lead is definitely toxic. If you're using it to work with electronics and others that obviously need a bit more heat, it works great and holds connections great. Great silver solder, great price, nothing more to say.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good

Works but it's _very_ ugly

To be clear this works great for electrical applications or anywhere you don't need to solder to look good. However, the flux core in this solder forms a very ugly ring around the solder joint. Given that I probably use it equally for soldering my wife's bracelets and for electrical work, this is an undesirable result. Yes, I know it's not 100% the right tool for the job. And a careful application of some kind of jewelry polish can get rid of most flux residues. But other brands of lead-free…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
