Waste of Money in my review

The cable doesn't work! Based on my observations, it seems that the cable is not compatible with Thunderbolt as advertised. The picture quality was terrible and the sound cut out intermittently. It was a terrible experience trying to use this cable.

Pros
  • None.
Cons
  • Not compatible with Thunderbolt.

Ideal for MacBook with USB-C

To be honest this product worked absolutely perfectly. Connect the USB-C side to my MacBook Pro and the HDMI end to my monitor. Went like clockwork. No issues, no flickering or other weird disconnects you get with other cables. The only thing I would like to say is that the price is "a bit high" for what you get. Pros
  • HIGH PERFORMANCE: USB-C (DP 1.2, HBR2 Alternate Mode) to HDMI 2.0 cable, 1 m long, supports UHD resolution up to 4K 60 Hz (3840 x 2160), 7.1 channel audio, HDCP 2.2 /1.4 | Black | 1080p and Thunderbolt 3 compatible
Cons
  • I won't say anything

The connection takes a few seconds but seems reliable. I also tested Apple's official adapter hub and found that active HDMI cables behave much like this StarTech cable (they don't work), but a passive HDMI cable works out of the box and maintains a reliable connection, much like the Cable Matters cable (although the…
