Good performance at a reasonable price

This is probably the cheapest NVMe to USB adapter I could find from a trusted seller. I suspect that the price reductions in SSDs have also led to price reductions in this type of device. They are easy to use and work as expected. I have used it with Samsung 970 EVO and ADATA SX8200 cloned windows and changed laptop and desktop SSD. Everything went smoothly. The results were satisfactory. I don't intend to use it every day. So I can't say anything about durability. The USB-C connector on the…

Can work really well for computers and accessories

I was looking for a way to use an extra PCI-E NVME drive I had laying around and this adapter worked great. Adding an NVME drive to the board was relatively easy, but screwing in a screw from the back of the board was slightly different. There are numerous comments about the case getting very hot. In my experience most NVME drives tend to get pretty hot unless you add an aftermarket heatsink to the drive. Unfortunately, in this case, there is not enough space to mount a heatsink on an M.2 drive

Works great at 900+ MB via Thunderbolt 3

I bought this to house a 250GB Evo 970 NVME M.2 drive. I am using this as a Time Machine backup drive for my MacBook Pro 2016. I wanted to speed up Time Machine backup/restore and also use it for high speed data transfer. As you can see in the attached image, I'm getting over 930 reads and over 850 writes. The onboard Apple NVME storage is about 2x faster. However, this unit is still twice the speed of the regular Evo SSD I've used. There are much faster external drives out there, but none at…

  • Little things

My 2017 iMac with a 27" Fusion drive is still MUCH faster on this external device alone than on the built-in "Fusion" SSD+HDD that Apple ships it with. I no longer experience lag or lag like the stock hardware. IT'S SLOWER than it was when I finally got around to installing my 2TB Samsung NVMe, but I've been too lazy to make it this far. internal and I'm getting about 1300 through this external USB C while testing it with macOS running on it. problem or something. I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with…

It does what it's supposed to do at a reasonable price

The price itself was better than most NVMe M.2 cases and it does exactly what is advertised. I bought this case to help a friend migrate their current NVMe M.2 to this one. He switched from the cheaper standard brand to the Crucial brand. Acronis for Crucial could not identify the drive as a Crucial drive. I'm not sure if it was the case, but the problem persisted. We had to use another program to do this task. The material seems to be cheaper overall. The front bezel that houses the USB Type-C

Overheating and slowdown when using 970 EVO

First, I have LOTS of external NVME cases. I talk too much like someone with a shoe addiction or something you see crying on these intervention shows. Anyway I bought it in November 2019 because it was very cheap with a big discount and it was a nice case. A year later I finally found time to install a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO and started backing up about 100 gigabytes of data from my Mac Pro via the TB3 connector. The drive worked really well for the first 20 gigabytes or so at the expected USB 3…
