Excellent survival lighter

Excellent survival lighter. Not the same as an open flame, but when used properly, this lighter can help. The built-in lighting is also very useful.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Very impressive for emergency firefighting

Works as described. Out of the box, this item is very impressive. Combined with a solar charger, this lighter is a great addition for camping situations.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • No automatic

Discharged battery that could not be charged when received

When received, the battery was completely discharged, no spark, no light. I tried charging it with the included iMac USB cable and three different Anker batteries. Nothing has happened. Tried a different cable. Nothing has happened. The lighter is back.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Doubtful

Very cool and works well

This is a very cool little device! Works great if you're backpacking and need to travel light (just bring some tender). I'd say it's more for that than an apocalyptic survival situation as it needs to be plugged in to charge or you need some sort of portable generator.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Secret

Great little tool

So far I've only used this product for experimenting and testing. It illuminates everything fairly easily. Paper, cotton balls and even some tinder like Paratinder light up in a split second. You can touch a sheet of paper with a bow and you will have fire. The light works very well and in an emergency it is better than having nothing. Because it's so small, you can easily slip it into your backpack in an emergency. Well, if you plan to carry it every day as a flashlight for everyday use, I…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Everything ok

Worked on first charge, never again

I bought this lighter in November 2018. When I got it I charged it and it worked straight away and I thought it was a cool little tool. For 2.5 years it turned out that this is not the case. It went from sparking (brighter side) and glowing (torch side) after the first charge to being put away for a few months and then never sparking or glowing again. Since then I've tried charging and using it intermittently, most recently today. The red charging light came on today when I plugged it in, but…

  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
