Good budget probe. Temperature probes and sensors

Good probe, slight variation in temperature range but well within range for my use. I use this with another cheap IR cooking thermometer. I haven't been disappointed yet and the difference in readings hasn't caused a problem yet. It's not a high accuracy thermocouple though, it's pretty good, but I wouldn't use it for anything that requires better than 10-20 accuracy. degrees Fahrenheit (5-10 degrees Celsius).

Pros
  • Cable length: 1.5 m / 4.9 ft; Outer Material: Plastic, Metal
Cons
  • So far so good

General Use: Temperature & Humidity

This sensor works well enough for basic applications and especially for the price. I compared it to some of my more expensive sensors and it was indeed within a certain range of accuracy. Keep in mind that the construction isn't as good as some of the more expensive models to keep costs down. If you take care of it and use it for softer applications, it lasts a pretty decent time. I have been through 3 in the last two years but they have been easily abused.

Pros
  • Product Name: Thermocouple; Gear Type: K
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Decent for this price range

This probe works 'ok' for home use but it's nowhere near as good as the probes I use at work, the difference is in the PRICE - this probe costs a few dollars, while workers cost over $30 each! So you get what you pay for: a cheap, clearly inferior connector and a really bad coiled wire that's stiff and doesn't spring back as expected when stretched. I have yet to test the accuracy, but it seemed reasonable when first used.

Pros
  • Weight: 23 g; Package Contents: 1 x Thermocouple
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen
