Extended shaft to fit electric motors

I bought this motor to replace a 20 year old Ming Jong technology motor that eventually died for the Christmas tree stand. Unfortunately, the Uxcell motor's D-shaft is about twice as long as the Ming Jong motor's. I would like to shorten the shaft to the original length, but haven't got around to it yet.

Just a backup - Electrical

Bought to fix my ice maker when it arrived I had the old motor fixed now it is being used as a backup. I haven't tried it, so I don't know how well it works. It's not exactly the same, but close enough to match. Looks well built although all those little motors are cheap but they do the job.

  • Electric motors

Powered by a Portable Ice Maker

This motor works great with a Frigidaire EFC123 Portable Ice Maker. The shaft is longer than the stock motor, so it was decided to install a 1/4" washer between the motor and housing and cut a 2-1/4" hole in the back cover of the ice maker (not enough clearance between the motor and cover). Another option is to shorten the shaft and lengthen the flat part of the shaft to match the original motor shaft. The speed is slower than the original (3 vs. 4.1 rpm), so it may take a little longer to…
