As it turns out, residential septic tanks aren't designed to work under pressure. When using this product, water leaked around its own seal and the gray and black water valves on my RV. I *tried* to use this on a 100ft run with a 12" rise. So if you have more modest needs, this *might* work.

My RV is parked in my backyard, nearest sewer is about 40 feet away and 1 foot uphill. It pumps gray and black water great and I haven't had a single clog in 6 months! The nozzle can be moved to the cleaning position to flush the black tank properly, which is also very convenient compared to a toilet hose.

Looks like the original sewage solution but the part that attaches to the drain valve is made of cheaper material. Worse, the o-ring is not an o-ring at all. It is essentially a flat gasket that is pressed into the plastic and therefore does not adhere sufficiently to the valve body to stop leaks. Yes, it flows wherever it meets the exhaust valve. My fourth in 3 years. The first ones lasted 2 years and are now falling apart quickly. Just 2019 I bought one in March, July and just bought a third this year. We use it about twice a week, the plastic nozzle clearly can't cope with it, it cracks and leaks. It's simple, clean and works fantastic. I live on the 5th wheel full time so I benefit a lot from this product. This is one of the best things you can buy for your RV, whether you are a full-time or part-time camper. I pump my sewage into a main line that's over 200 feet away when I'm home. So distance is not a problem. The jet easily flushes the tank and directs the waste water into pipe #1. I hated lugging around a big dirty big hose and/or trying to find a sewer hookup coming down from an RV. This block completely eliminates such situations. The hose that comes with it is 1" in diameter and is very hygienic. The block allows your sewer to go anywhere you place the hose, including uphill. It's well designed and pretty much foolproof. I have been using Sewer Solution for many years. I bought this pump head to replace my old one which had cracked and was leaking around the outlet. The new pump fits snugly but is not the same quality as my original pump which was made by the original Sewer Solution Company before Valterra bought it.
