4 out of 5 Best Leaks on Under Sink and Countertop Filters

I couldn't get a 4 out of 5 to stop a leak at the reverse osmosis tank connector. Even using 4-5 turns of PTFE and slowly tightening the valve, there will always be a slow leak. The John Guest part was fine, but the threaded part didn't seal well. Rather spend a little more for higher quality valves.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • No Paint Required

Works as expected and at a good price

I have installed a reverse osmosis system for both my drinking water and reef tank. I was using a ball valve to get RO/DI water for my reef tank and suddenly the handle broke and there was a big leak. Either way I need a replacement ASAP and for the price this item works as expected and I haven't had any issues with leaks. I only need one, but a spare wouldn't hurt.

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Try them for flow control in your hydroponic system.

I have a decent sized hydroponic system. I've used drippers, but I needed the ability to regulate the flow in each channel or turn off the channel at once. I've installed them and they're doing great so far. No leakage. The management of the individual channels is very flexible. If you work with a channel, you can turn off the irrigation completely, which will make your job much easier. And they don't clog, or I would say they don't clog at all. All in all, these work great.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

Works well with lots of Teflon tape.

Works well. One of them broke trying to stop the leak, slowly tightening it until it broke. On the second try I used what I thought was a ridiculous amount of teflon tape, but it took a lot less tightening and no leaks! I wrapped the threads around the tank about 8 times and couldn't see the threads anymore. But it worked and kept the pressure in the tank for several weeks. They were much cheaper than the valve sold by the reverse osmosis system manufacturer.

Pros
  • Finally bought

  • Some cons
