These are absolutely fantastic lights at a great price. They only draw 1.5 amps at full brightness. The controller is included. I always cut it off and connect the JST-SM connector and control with WLED on the ESP8266. You can also use with SP501e or any controller designed to work with WS2812B LEDs. It's not WS2812B, but they use the same protocol.

Update: I exchanged the broken one for another one. There isn't even a light on. It was a complete mess! He got tangled up so easily it was very frustrating. I wanted a string of lights for my son's crib because most night lights aren't too bright. The remote control didn't work, so it's useless and the light can't change. The color is bright, but that was too much effort. The wires are too small. Better buy!

This is perfect for what we were looking for. We recently moved into a house and my kids are afraid of the dark. Its length is perfect to cover our entire living room and a separate children's room. Different colors and modes calm children. Children no longer stay up too late or wake up in the middle of the night. We loved this product so much we bought 3 more for our garage and master bedroom. I bought a D&D (aka Small Garage) for my playroom, they are very bright and the colors are quite vibrant. The only thing I would like to say to buyers is that the wires are quite fragile so they can bend into place (e.g. around a nail) but I wouldn't recommend banging the same spot too many times or too much to bend. When I installed them they worked right out of the box but when I got home tonight I tried turning them on and they started flashing randomly - as in, not in a normal flash mode. Now when I try to press any button on the remote they start flashing random colors (again as opposed to the normal rainbow flash). Some color settings work correctly, except about 1/4 of the line is dead and random highlights are dim or a completely different color. Most colors flicker and then the whole line goes out…
