very light - tent poles

I replaced the aluminum tent poles that came with my tent with these. They worked well and have a thin shaft that handles bottom obstacles better. Maybe not so sure, but I haven't had any problems

Pros
  • Excellent holding power
Cons
  • Disappearing

Shepard's Hook Titanium Pegs

Good solid pegs. Have been using them for years. Just bought them as a Christmas present. Very light and strong than the aluminum I use. Expensive but worth the difference in weight. Shave those ounces if you pack light!

Pros
  • Made in China
Cons
  • High Price

Strong, easy to drive into the ground, good holding power

I bought more expensive UL CF mix pegs with the tent, as well as some of these Ti hooks as "spare" for hiking trips. JMT. I ended up catching about half of the CF bets, and that's also because of the issues that drove them completely into the ground. But all those little hooks held and were easy to work with due to their thin profile. I will order more and make them my primaries!

Pros
  • Extremely light
Cons
  • Empty

Lightweight yet strong

The perfect set of durable small titanium pegs. This metal is durable, will not corrode and will amaze you the moment you pick it up. It feels like you're holding a set of six soda straws instead of six metal stakes. Although they can be very light they are stronger than you can imagine and I have had the opportunity to use them on a variety of soils including sand and rock in Iraq. the winds of the Iraqi desert and in the clay and stone soil of Fort Riley, Kansas. Other reviewers will advise…

Pros
  • Built for performance and durability
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
