Type of review

The range of these remote controls is extremely limited, especially when you're not looking at the receiver or the antenna isn't fully extended. If you lean a little to one side or the other and don't extend the antenna, it literally won't work beyond 5-10 feet. The LEDs are really very dark. The unreliability of the trigger is made worse by the fact that since you can't see the LEDs, it's very difficult to tell if you've actually triggered it. Excellent remote shutter release

This wireless remote just works. Easy to use. I've used it up to 200 feet with no issues. While there are guidelines for RF sync to improve performance, I've never had to use them. It may not be as durable as a camera manufacturer's product, but for the price, I could buy a few before spending as much as a well-known branded product. It works exactly as advertised

I have and currently use a Nikon MC-DC2 remote release cable (useful for tripod/macro photography), a Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote release (IR and almost useless IMHO), Gigabit Ethernet T Pro ll 2.4 GHz timer radio remote (intervalometer too complicated) and these Vello FreeWave radio remote triggers that will be my new "transition".
