It works as described.

I bought it to replace the old ring (Sunbeam). This one works much better. The amount of light can be regulated, which I find to be a great advantage. I use with my Nikon Micro 40mm (actually macro lens)

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

I was skeptical based on the mixed reviews but I'm glad I took the risk because it's a great job! The adapters are plastic, but as long as you treat your product with care, you will never have a problem. I like the light controls and the tinted removable cover that creates a nice contrast. In general I am satisfied with the product and the price.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • exchange availability

Ring flash with the latest LED technology

This flash stood out from the crowd. It uses the latest LED technology and works well. The flash can be used as a flash up to 1/100. This can be a controller to turn on the right side, left side, or all LEDs. With a 50mm f2 lens at 3ft, I can shoot handheld pretty well. I like the ability to have the LEDs on all the time. It's especially helpful when my DSLR's autofocus works in dark environments.

true dimming

This is a ten light ring of light that really dims. Not 69 light glowing less to give a touch of dimming. I had fun with this flash, nothing professional, just experimenting. People have complained that the ring of light spins too easily, and that's true. My solution is a 5 second glue that cures in UV light. 4 small drops, more or less evenly distributed on the base, ensure the right friction. With all adapter rings it fits my Nikon and Panasonic cameras.

Pros
  • light mode
Cons
  • high price

Does what it's designed to do and does it well

Finally a macro LED ring light that does it right. Can be configured to trigger a hot shoe. The powerband is enough to run at reasonable ISO settings. I've had a Canon RingFlash for a few years. I missed this when I switched to Micro 4/3 cameras but wasn't ready to buy another ring flash. My previous experience with LED ring lights was that they were low wattage and not bright enough to be used for some of the things I was shooting with them. This emits enough lumens to be carried in a pocket…

Pros
  • Flash mode
Cons
  • New competition is here
